Tripura: One Arrested Over 'Attack' On Ex-Minister Sudip Roy Barman

On Sunday, when Barman was visiting advocate Somik Deb at his residence in the Agartala district of Tripura, a few miscreants attacked him.

Agartala: Tripura police on Sunday arrested a person for his alleged involvement in the attack on former minister Sudip Roy Barman's security guard and driver in the city.

However, the identity of the arrested person has not been disclosed yet.

Meanwhile, the Congress party has blamed the ruling BJP for the assault.

On Sunday, when Barman was visiting advocate Somik Deb at his residence in the Agartala district of Tripura, a few miscreants attacked him.

Barman managed to escape unhurt, however, his driver and bodyguard sustained injuries.

As per the Barman, the miscreants snatched the weapon of his personal security guard.

Both the injured were rushed to the hospital for treatment and a case was registered in the West Agartala police station.

Reportedly, Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb on Sunday instructed the state police officials to take stringent action against the perpetrators who allegedly attacked Congress leader Sudip Roy Barman.
