Tripura Police Arrests Woman From Amritsar For Online Gambling Fraud

After her arrest, she was produced before the West Tripura Session Court, from where, she was sent into police custody for five days.

Agartala: A Crime Branch Unit of Tripura Police has nabbed a woman for her alleged involvement in an online fraud through an app-based betting platform named ''Sports Fantasy''.

As per the reports, the woman cheated a huge number of clients, who laid bets on the platforms.

After her arrest, she was produced before the West Tripura Session Court, from where, she was sent into police custody for five days.

Earlier after a preliminary investigation, the case was transferred to the Crime Branch Unit following which a lookout notice was issued.

Reportedly, she was nabbed on she was on her way to Dubai. The police had information that she was trying to escape from India as good number of cases filed against her at different police stations.

The woman identified as Anchal was nabbed from Amritsar airport and was brought to Agartala on a transit remand.

She has been charged under IPC section 420 as she was involved in looting people through her acts.
