Tripura: Police Tighten Security Ahead of Upcoming By-Elections

Itanagar: In view of upcoming by-elections which are scheduled to be held on June 23, the Tripura Police has tightened the security in all the four constituencies.

The police have told that flying squads and static surveillance teams are also deployed in all the four constituencies where the by-elections are going to take place.

"Except for a minor incident in a 57-Jubarajnagar assembly constituency, no other incident took place during the day. It is pertinent to mention here that Flying Squads and Static Surveillance Teams have been deployed in all the constituencies," an official statement from the state police read.

As per reports, around 20 companies of the Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) and 5 companies of the Tripura State Rifles (TSR) have been put up for the securities.

The by-elections that will be taking place on June 23 include Agartala, Bordowali town, Surma (SC), and Jubarajnagar, of Tripura.
