Union Budget to strengthen journey of development in NE: Sarbananda Sonowal

The Union Minister of Ports, Shipping & Waterways and AYUSH, Sarbananda Sonowal addressed a meeting of eminent intellectuals

AGARTALA: The Union Minister of Ports, Shipping & Waterways and AYUSH, Sarbananda Sonowal addressed a meeting of eminent intellectuals, leading businesspersons, academicians among other socially conscious citizens here on Tuesday. The meeting was aimed at discussing the finer details of the recently presented Union Budget for the financial year 2022-23.

Speaking at the meeting, the Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, said, "Northeast is the strength of India and this budget will strengthen the journey of development in this region to a great extent. It will help in connecting different regions of the country through development of waterways. The budget provisions for different ministries related to the infrastructure and communications are being integrated through PM Gati Shakti which will give a powerful push to the efforts of infrastructure development which is inclusive and sustainable. This budget has reflected the mantra of Ek Bharat, Sherstha Bharat and Aatmanirbhar Bharat."

The meeting also was attended by (Prof) Dr Manik Saha, president, BJP Tripura; Manoj Kanti Dev, Minister for Commerce, Industry, Civil Supplies for Government of Tripura; Deepak Majumdar, Mayor, Agartala Municipal Corporation; and Parmananda Sarkar Banerjee, convenor of the meeting.
