4th International Yoga Day is being celebrated in Nagaon. The Yoga divas have been observed centrally in Nurul Amin Stadium Nagaon organized under the aegis of Nagaon District Administration. Chief Minister of Assam Sarbananda Sonowal, Minister of State for Railways Rajen Gohain, Ex-Chief Minister Prafulla Kumar Mahanta , MLAs Utpal Dutta, Rupak Sharma, Dimbeswar Das, Angurlata Deka along with top officials of State government were participated in the Yoga Divas and performed Asanas with a large number of people.
Addressing on the occasion Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal appealed to the citizens of Assam to perform yoga regularly to live a healthy and a peaceful lifestyle. Addressing this issue, he asked the people of Assam to use Yoga as a strong medium to remove the superstitious beliefs from the state. Earlier Deputy Commissioner of Nagaon, Biswajit Pegu delivered the welcome address.
