Ex-AASU leader Inamul Hoque while speaking to mediapersons at Hatsingmari on NRC said that the religious minority people should not panic about NRC since whoever came to India before 24th march 1971 is an Indian citizen irrespective of caste or community. He added that some organisations and political parties like Congress are politicizing the matter. While criticizing the Congress party, he asked them not to politicize the issue for the sake of correct implementation of NRC. When asked about O.I. he could not provide a satisfactory answer. Some members of Garia Maria Desi Organization met the Deputy Commissioner of South Salmara Mankachar and submitted a memorandum on NRC addressed to the State Coordinator (NRC) Prateek Hajela.
