Nagaland Chief Minister Inaugarates Five Indoor Stadiums in the State

The Chief Minister of Nagaland, Neiphiu Rio inaugurated five state-of-the-art indoor stadiums across the state on Monday in a bid to promote games and sports in the state. These five new indoor stadiums are located in five districts of the state.

Speaking from the Regional Centre for Sporting Excellence in Sovima, the chief minister mentioned that this step will promote the youth of the state to be more inclined towards sports as better facilities will now be available for them.

Neiphiu Rio was physically present to investigate the stadium in the Chümoukedima District, while he inaugurated the stadiums in Nuiland, Noklak, Tuensang and Tseminyu virtually.

The chief minister mentioned that this is the first phase of the state government’s comprehensive indoor stadium development program which aims to create modern sports facilities across the state. He also expressed his happiness regarding the timely completion of the projects at hand.

He informed that the state government sanctioned budget for six such stadiums during 2021-22 with a cost of Rs.3.50 crore each and that the future plans include the development of synthetic tracks, centers of excellence, grounds, and sports complexes in different districts.
