Majuli, the largest river island in India is all gearing up for the much awaited Rass festival. Known as the seat of Vaishnavite culture, Majuli attracts a lot of tourist from across the globe every year. Majuli has lot to offer to its tourist from Mask making, pottery village, rare bamboo species, weaving centers, migratory birds, sunset points, besides its pristine environment and lush green paddy fields. A team of forest officials from 17 states of India are on a official visit to Majuli for studying the quality of bamboos used in mask making and other handicrafts.
