The fight between AAMSU's Rejaul Karim Sarkar and Ajijur Rahman has resulted a split in the party. 8000 Members of the Students' Union have resigned under the leadership of Additional Secreatry Farid Islam. The Sivasagar district unit of AAMSU resigned during a press meet at Sivasagar Press Club .
