Will Someone Pay Hid to the Plight of Bus Owners of Assam

Bus owners of Assam are facing tough times

Sentinel Digital Desk

Bus owners of Assam are facing tough times. About 200 buses were being used by government owned Assan State Transport Corporation for inter-state services during lockdown. But the owners are yet to get their dues. Buses have been allowed to operate with 50% passengers only which means fare collection would be less. Given the fact that diesel prices have been rising, the bus owners are incurring huge losses. Most of them are unable to make ends meet. Another factor that has been plaguing the bus owners is that many of their buses were operating as school buses. With schools shut for over 6 months now, no payments are happening for these bus owners.
