A 36 year old woman was trampled to death by wild Elephant while she was on her way to a stream to take bath on Friday morning at Rengbeng TE in Kathiatoli, Nagaon. Irked at the failure of Forest Department to take steps against wild elephants menace which has been continued allegedly in the area the local public staged blockade of NH-36 at Kathiatoli with the dead body for five hours to stage their protest.
Later the blockade was withdrawn by the protestors after getting assurances from the representatives of district administration regarding steps to check Elephants menaces and compensation for the victims family.
