4th Ayodhana Int'l Fide Chess Tournament: Arpan Downs Ashutosh To Take Sole Lead In Round 6

Altogether 10 players including 63 fide-rated players are participating in this tournament from different parts of the country.

Guwahati: After completion of the 6th round, top seed Arpan Das of West Bengal took the sole lead with 6 points by beating second seed Ashutosh Kumar of Bihar.

8 other players, Ashutosh Kumar of Bihar, Rupam Mukherjee of West Bengal, Tanisha A R Som, Padma Gogoi, Nilabhjyoti Barthakur, Charvy Choudhury, Abinash P Gogoi, and Ashvin Sharma are placed in the second position by scoring 5 points each from a same number of rounds.

In the six-round, game Nilabhjyoti Barthakur and Padma Gogoi drew their game while Rupam Mukherjee of West Bengal beat Kishan Kumar of Bihar. Ashvin Sharma beat Pradip Bhuyan and Tanisha A R Som beat Koshin Das.

Abinash P Gpgoi beat Pran Gobinda Parashar Kashyap.

The seventh-round games will start tomorrow at 9.30 am.

The tournament is being organized by Chess Players' Parents' Forum and recognized by the All India Chess Federation and the world chess federation from 3rd July to 8th July 2022 at Assam Down Town University Auditorium, Pani Khaiti, Guwahati.

The tournament is being held in the Swiss league system for 9 rounds in classical time format. Altogether 10 players including 63 fide-rated players are participating in this tournament from different parts of the country.

The tournament is being conducted by Fide Arbiter Pranab Kumar Nath as chief Arbiter and he is being assisted by Monmala Sinha, Ravikant Tiwari, Golap Gogoi, Panna Ahmed, and Nirmal Das. The tournament will conclude on 8th July 2022.
