Ace boxer Lovlina Borgohain eying medal in Commonwealth Games

Lovlina and ace boxer from Assam Shiva Thapa selected in the Indian boxing team which will take part in the next Commonwealth Games.

GUWAHATI: Ace boxer Lovlina Borgohain looked confident about her good show in the forthcoming Commonwealth Games which would be held at Birmingham.

Talking to the media persons at the side line of the opening ceremony of the Gauhati Town Club Boxing Academy the Olympic medalist said, "All the boxers in the camp are working hard to display good show in the forthcoming Games and I will try my best to bring a medal from the meet."

Lovlina and ace boxer from Assam Shiva Thapa selected in the Indian boxing team which will take part in the next Commonwealth Games. The Indian boxers will undergo training in Ireland next month.

It may be mentioned here that Lovlina was recently elected as the chairman of the IBA's Athlete's Committee. Commenting on her new role the boxer said, "I feel honoured to have been elected as the chair of IBA's Athlete's Committee. I will try my best to promote the boxers of the State and the country in best possible way "

Meanwhile the next edition of the Asian Games scheduled to be held in Hangzhou is postponed by a year. Lovlina took it positively." I have to participate in several competitions this year. I will get more time to prepare myself for those meets." she said.

It may be mentioned here that the boxer has reportedly filed a divorce petition against her husband Nabanit Goswami in a family court in Guwahati.
