Dubai: Superb half-centuries from Hazratullah Zazai (56) and Mohammad Shahzad (54) and deadly bowling by Mohanad Nabi (3 for two in four overs) helped Afghanistan beat the West Indies by 56 runs in the ICC T20 World Cup warm-up match on Wednesday.

Afghanistan posted a strong score on the scoreboard of 189 runs for five in 20 overs and restricted the Windies to 133 for five. Roston Chase scored an unbeaten 54 off 58 balls with the help of six fours and a six, but the team could not cope with the setbacks from Nabi in the beginning. Nabi bowled four overs with the new ball of which two overs were maiden and he dismissed three players for just two runs.

To restore their confidence, Afghans needed a big win as their moral was down after losing to South Africa in their first warm-up match. However, they were in successful in restoring their confidence by thrashing the Caribbean.

On the other hand, West Indies didn't give their best in the match. Notably, they had also lost to Pakistan.

While chasing the target, Roston Chase along with Nicholas Pooran (35 off 26), tried a lot to snatch away the match from Afghanistan but couldn't survive in front of Afghan bowlers.

For Afghanistan, Naveen-ul-Haq and Karim Janat picked one wicket each, while Mohammad Nabi grabbed three wickets.
