Arunachal Pradesh planning to improve badminton in State

NEW DELHI: Secretary General of the Arunachal State Badminton Association (ASBA) and former Chairman of Sport Authority of Arunachal (SAA) Bamang Tago informed that the Minister of State of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports Kiren Rijuju assured to workout modalities for the improvement of Badminton in the state through Sports Authority of India (SAI).

The assurance came after Bamang Tago called on Rijiju with Badminton Association of India (BAI) junior head coach Sanjay Mishra at his office on Thursday.

Tago also shared on the challenges and opportunities for overall development of sports across the state with minister.

Meanwhile, SAI have accredited B-sector indoor badminton stadium and MLA-cottage Indoor Badminton stadium under Khelo India Talent Identification & Development (KITD) programme as badminton academy and Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) have been formally executed here at Khelo India Head Office, Jawaharlal Nehru stadium complex, New Delhi.

Earlier, a three member Central Assessment Team (CAT) headed by Project Officer, office of the Sport Authority of India New Delhi, Ministry of Youth Affairs Sports Government of India inspected Satish Bagal at MLA cottage Indoor badminton stadium and B-sector Indoor badminton stadium on 4th Nov, 2019 to evaluate under the accreditation norms.
