GUWAHATI: Senior cricket team of Assam will leave for Kolkata tomorrow to take part in the forthcoming Syed Mushtaq Ali T-20 Cricket championship. The competition, first domestic meet after COVID-19, will kick off on January 10.

Assam are placed in Elite 'B' group along with Hyderabad, Tamil Nadu, Bengal, Odisha and Jharkhand. The side will face Hyderabad in their opening game on January 10. The match will be held under floodlight. Assam will play their second match also under flood light against Tamil Nadu on January 12. The dates of remaining three group phase games are: January 14 vs Jharkhand, January 16 vs Bengal and January 18 vsOdisha.

The teams will enter their respective bubbles on January 2 and before the tournament begins they will undergo three COVID tests..
