Assam Finish Runner-up at National Kickboxing C'ship

LAKHIMPUR: The Assam State Team under All Assam Kickboxing Federation (AAKF) has brought laurels to the State by achieving the 1st Runner-up title at 13th Junior National Kickboxing Championship. In the championship, the Assam Team won 7 gold, 8 silver and 13 bronze medals in Fighting event while 3 gold, 5 silver and 7 bronze medals at Aero Kickboxing and Musical Form event. The Assam Team won a total of 10 gold, 13 silver and 20 bronze medals at Amar Shahid General Bipin Rawat Memorial 12th Sub Junior, 13th Junior and 14 Senior National Kickboxing Championship, 2022, which was organized at Raja Virbhadra Sports Complex , Kumarhattyi in Himachal Pradesh by Himachal Pradesh Kickboxing Association under the aegis of Kickboxing Federation of India from March 26 to March 29.

The team was lead by AAKF general secretary Master Ahmed Ashraf. Hari Prasanna Baruah from Lakhimpur, who is the vice-president of LDKA, participated in the tournament as referee-cum-judge. Biswanath District unit general secretary Rituraj Biswakarma participated as team coach while Tapan Saikia from Lakhimpur took part as team manager.

The gold medalist in fight event of the tournament are— Abanish Baruah, Prashanta Sapkota, Sundar Chetry, Karan Bhattarai, Uday Aditya Gautam, Purobi Sonowal and Biplab Chutia. Silver medalists are—Swapnaraj Hazarika, Bishal Mizar, Mridupaban Deka, Aditya Chetry, Anu Devi, Dimpi Hazarika, Durga Prashad Bhattarai, Neeraj Acharya. Bronze Medalist are- Ghreetam Bhuyan, Naman Saikia, Pranish Rijal, Wazbir Rahman , Koyal Barik , Kundan Kaushik Hazarika, Monuj Kumar Biswakarma, Uttam Biswakarma, Dipshikha Payeng , Rimpi Basumotary, Kashmiri Chinte, Saklain Samied and Aftar Ali. Gold medalist of Aero-Kickboxing is— Purobi Sonowal while silver medalist are— Durga Prashad Bhattarai, Neeraj Acharya, Tanmayee Bhumij, Dimpi Hazarika. Bronze medalist are— Bishal Mizar, Abanish Baruah , Koyal Barik, Aditya and Kashmiri Chinte. Gold medalist in Musical Form are— Biplav Chutia and Wazbir Rahman. Silver medalists is— Ghreetam Bhuyan, Bronze medalist are— Manjil Hussain and Kundan Kaushik Hazarika, informed AAKF general secretary Master Ahmed Ashraf.
