GUWAHATI, Sept 10: Assam bagged 17 medals on day I in the East Zone Athletics Championship which got under way at Pataliputra from today. Among the 17 medals 5 are gold, 3 are silver and the remaining 9 are bronze. The five gold medals were won by Hemanga Borgohain (High jump), Amisa Pegu (Shot put), Indivor Hazarika (1500m), Mossadiq Hussain (60m race) and Pahi Keot (2000m race).
