New Delhi: In a bid to accommodate Olympic bronze medallist Lovlina Borgohain's personal coach Sandhya Gurung, Indian women's boxing team head coach Bhaskar Bhatt has moved out of his room at the Commonwealth Games.
As per reports, Bhatt has checked into a hotel nearby as Gurung has moved into Bhatt's room village.
''I have moved to a hotel which is a 10-minute walk from the village. I volunteered to do it as it's all 'ghar ka mamla' and it is best to sort out such short things amongst ourselves'', Bhatt was quoted as saying by PTI.
However, Bhatt can enter the game village whenever he wants as he has access to all the venues and the village. The only change will take place as he won't be able to stay in the village at night.
Notably, in May this year, under the guidance of Bhatt, the Indian women's team grabbed three medals, including a gold at the World Championship.
On Monday, Borgohain took to the micro-blogging site Twitter had claimed that her preparation was getting affected due to the 'continuous harassment' of her coaches.
Following this, the Gurung was given accreditation for the 2022 Commonwealth Games.
The Boxing Federation Of India (BFI) issued a statement giving an update on the matter and said, "Boxer Lovlina Borgohen's coach Sandhya Gurung has received her accreditation and a room at the Sports Village in Birmingham."
