Federation Cup: Dhing Express Hima Das Clinches Gold Medal In Women's 200-Meter Race

New Delhi: Dhing express Hima Das On Wednesday bagged Gold in the Women's 200-meter race on the final day of the 25th National Federation Cup Senior Athletics Championships.

Das stopped the clock in 23.63 seconds to win by one-hundredth of a second from 400m champion Aishwarya Kailash Mishra. Priya H Mohan, who did not compete in the 400m, settled for third place in a personal best time.

Meanwhile, taking to the micro-blogging site Twitter, the Chief Minister of Assam Himanta Biswa Sarma congratulated Das on winning gold.

"Dhing Express does it again! Heartiest congratulations Smt @HimaDas8 on winning 200 m Gold at Federation Cup at Calicut, Kerela. May you sprint ahead towards mightier success. Best wishes for future races!" he tweeted.

Sarma also congratulated Amlan Borogohain for setting a new national record of 20.52 seconds in the 200m Men Finals.
