Unlike India vs Sri Lanka match that had to be called off in Guwahati due to bad weather, the third day of the Ranji Trophy match between Mumbai & Karnataka at the Bandra Kurla Complex, Sunday had to face interruptions because of snakes which kept appearing in the field.
A snake catcher, who was called upon to take care of the unexpected situation, caught two of them.
Amol Karhadkar of The Hindu posted a picture of the incident on Twitter.
He tweeted: “The highlight of the day at BKC: The snake-catcher displays his “second catch of the day”. It’s a non-venomous rat snake, btw #RanjiTrophy #MUMvKAR.”
Karnataka beat Mumbai by 5 wickets in the Elite Group B Ranji Trophy. However, this is not the first time that such a disruption has been caused.
Last year, Andhra vs Vidarbha was also delayed because a snake had sneaked into the field.
