CM takes part at goodwill campaign for Lovlina Borgohain

With a view to support and motivate ace boxer Lovlina Borgohain who is representing India at the Tokyo Olympics, Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma took part in a goodwill campaign “Go for Glory, Lovlina” in Guwahati today.

GUWAHATI: With a view to support and motivate ace boxer Lovlina Borgohain who is representing India at the Tokyo Olympics, Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma took part in a goodwill campaign "Go for Glory, Lovlina" in Guwahati today. As part of the campaign, the Chief Minister participated in a bicycle rally organized by Sarupathar MLA Biswajit Phukan from Last Gate to Nehru Stadium along with several other participants.

Addressing the participants at Last Gate, Chief Minister Sarma urged the people of Assam to come together and cheer for Lovlina Borgohain as she puts her best to bring glory to the nation in the Olympics.

While appreciating Sarupathar MLA Biswajit Phukan for the initiative of the goodwill campaign, Chief Minister Sarma said that it is quite commendable that Lovlina who hails from a remote place of Assam made it so big in the international boxing circuit. He also lauded Padum Boro who for the first time identified Lovlina's talent as a promising boxer.

The Chief Minister also felicitated Lovlina's father Tiken Borgohain on the occasion. Along with the Chief Minister, the goodwill campaign was attended by Speaker of Assam Legislative Assembly Biswajit Daimary, Agriculture Minister Atul Bora, Handloom and Textiles Minister UG Brahma, Environment and Forest Minister Parimal Suklabaidya, Water Resources Minister Pijush Hazarika, Revenue and DM Minister Jogen Mohan, Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Bimal Bora, Tea Tribes Welfare Minister Sanjay Kishan, Deputy Speaker of ALA Dr. Numol Momin, Leader of the Opposition Debabrata Saikia, CEM KAAC Tuliram Ronghang and several MLAs among others.
