BCCI is keen to develop cricket in NE, says the newly elected joint secretary Saikia

GUWAHATI: Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is keen on developing Cricket in the North-Eastern region and is ready to provide necessary support, said Devajit Saikia, the newly elected joint secretary of BCCI.

Assam Cricket Association (ACA) on Sunday felicitated Saikia in a glittering function held at the ACA Stadium premises. Addressing the gathering in the function Saikia said, "The secretary of BCCI Jay Shah is very keen to promote cricket in the North East and already expressed his interest to create new infrastructure of the game in the region."

In his speech Saikia also thanked everyone for the love and affection being showered upon him. He added that his elevation to the much-coveted office of the Joint Secretary of BCCI shouldn't be seen as a result of individual effort but a collective effort of the entire North-Eastern part of India. Khairul Jamal (Mamon) Majumder, newly elected member, Apex Council of BCCI was also felicitated in the same function.
