City Cricket Club lift Premier Club Cricket title

The Closing Ceremony was attended by president and secretary of the Assam Cricket Association Romen Dutta and Devajit Saikia respectively.

Guwahati: City Cricket Club lifted the 4th Assam Premier Club Cricket Championship title thrashing BDMTCCC by 88 runs in the final held at the Amingaon Cricket ground today.

Opted to bat, City Cricket club rode on two half century knocks from Sib Sankar Roy and Rahul Hazarika, put huge 190-5 in 20 overs. Rahul faced 37 balls to score 55 with the help of six boundaries and two sixes and also made two good partnerships in the innings. His opening wicket partnership with Angshuman Katoni produced 55 runs in just 6.3 overs. Later he also added 43 runs with Sib Sankar Roy in the second wicket in just 4.3 overs. Thereafter the match was one sided affair. Sib Sankar, the other batsman in the match who scored a half century, took just 36 balls to score 60 and there were six boundaries and three over boundaries in his innings. BDMTCCC were bowled out 102 in 17.4 overs. While Roshan Basfore (25) was the top scorer, Om Prakash Mahanta and Parvez Aziz bagged three wickets each.

The Closing Ceremony was attended by president and secretary of the Assam Cricket Association Romen Dutta and Devajit Saikia respectively along with the other top officials of the association.

Champion City Cricket Club collected a purse of Rs 10 Lakh and BDMTCCC received a cash award of Rs 5 Lakh.

Individual Awards: Best Fielder - Sandip Paul of Club Triranga. Best Bowler - Abhijot Singh Sidhu of City Cricket Club. Best Batter - Pallav Kumar Das of Club Triranga (293 runs). Player of the Tournament - Rahul Hazarika of City Cricket Club.
