Conway, Dube help CSK beat RCB in Indian Premier League 2023

BENGALURU: Chennai Super Kings registered third win in five matches in the Indian Premier League 2023 as they beat Royal Challengers Bangalore by 8 runs at the M. Chennaswamy stadium on Monday night.

Breezy half-centuries by Devon Conway and Shivam Dune helped CSK post a massive 226/6 in 20 overs. In reply, RCB scored 218 in allotted over losing 8 wickets.

After losing two quick wickets in first two overs, Fef du Plessis and Glenn Maxwell put on a magnificent partnership of 126 runs in just 61 balls. Maxwell was the first to go after making 76 runs off 36 balls with 8 sixes. Plessis went back in the next over off Moeen Ali. The opener scored 62 runs off 33 balls with 4 sixes. Later, Dinesh Karthik added 28 runs off 14 ball. RCB needed 21 runs from the last over, but could score 10 runs. Tushar Deshpande took 3 wickets for 45 runs.

Earlier, Conway started slowly but struck some brilliant shots in a superb display of power-hitting, blasting 83 off 45 deliveries while Dube smashed 52 off 27 balls, blasting five towering sixes, as CSK made superb use of a good pitch and feasted on the Royal Challengers Bangalore bowling as skipper Faf du Plessis missed a trick or two by failing to make better use of his spinners after opting to bowl first.
