DUBAI: The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Wednesday cautioned teams competing in the T20 World Cup in Australia from October 16 to be aware of the recent rule changes in the 'playing conditions', as ignorance of the new guidelines during "match-defining" and "deciding moments" could make the difference between victory and defeat, given the fierce nature of T20 cricket.

The ICC had announced a number of changes to the playing conditions, which came into effect on October 1, and some could become the talking points in Australia.

"In a format of small margins, these changes (in playing conditions) may become match-defining and deciding moments in Australia," cautioned ICC on their website on Wednesday, as several rule breaches have harsh penalties.

The global cricket governing body said teams, support staff and players need to focus on five key changes "you (teams) will want to keep an eye out for over the course of the event". IANS
