New Delhi: India's spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has added another feather in his cap as he become the highest Test wicket-taker in 2021.

Ashwin took his 415th wicket in the ongoing Test cricket against New Zealand and with this he has left behind Pakistan legend Wasim Akram in this matter. Ashwin has taken a total of 416 wickets.

So far in 2021, has taken 41 wickets and with this feat, he again left behind Pakistan's fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi.

Notably, Ashwin has achieved this feat only in his 80th Test match. He has now reached number 14 in terms of taking the most wickets in Test cricket. Meanwhile, he is now just two wickets away from former Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh's record of 417 wickets.

Ashwin made his Test debut in the year 2011 against West Indies. In his Test career, he took five wickets 30 times, while on the other hand has also taken 10 wickets for seven times in a test.
