India Bowls Out Australia for 188 Runs

Both Mohammed Shami and Mohammed Siraj grabbed a three-wicket haul each for India.

MUMBAI: The first One Day International match of the three-match Mastercard series is underway in the Wankhade Stadium of Mumbai between India and Australia. Bowling first, India managed to get the Australian team out for a total of 188 runs.

India playing under the captaincy of Hardik Pandiya won the toss and decided to put Australia to bat first. Opener Mitchell Marsh scored a total of 81 runs from 65 balls, which was the highest score among the Australian batters. Josh Inglis with 26 from 27 balls and Steve Smith with 22 from 30 were the next best scores for the team as the rest of the team crumpled within about 100 runs.

Both Mohammed Shami and Mohammed Siraj grabbed a three-wicket haul each for India. Ravindra Jadeja grabbed two more wickets while Kuldeep Yadav and Hardik Pandiya also managed to take one wicket each.

Batting second, the Indian top order was also completely devastated by the Australian bowling attack. They lost the wickets in quick succession starting with Ishan Kisan at 5 runs, Virat Kohli at 16, Suryakumar Yadav also at 16 and Shubma Gill at 39. Mitchell Starc has managed to grab 3 Indian wickets as of now. India scored a total of 64 runs with the loss of 4 wickets in 15 overs at the time of writing this report.

India had earlier beaten Australia in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. The fourth and final match of the prestigious Border Gavaskar Trophy of 2023 has come to an end on Monday afternoon. India has managed to grab onto a 2:1 victory in the series with wins in the first two matches, a loss in the third and a draw in the final test match. Batting first the Australian cricket team had scored 480 runs in the first innings. Chasing it down, India reached 571 runs at the loss of all its wickets. Bating in the second innings, Australia managed to score another 175 runs at the loss of 2 wickets at the end of the stipulated 5 days of play with no chance for India to bat for the second time, drawing the match.
