Indian cricketer Riyan leads Assam to victory in Syed Mushtaq Ali cricket

GUWAHATI: Assam displayed a magnificent performance in the Syed Mushtaq Ali cricket and registered a five wicket victory over Madhya Pradesh in Rajkot today. Chasing huge 193 runs to win Assam reached the target in 19.1 overs losing five wickets. Riyan Parag (75) was the star of the day and he got good support from Nipon Deka (42 no) and Rahul Hazarika.

There were two good partnerships in Assam innings which changed the entire scenario and Riyan Parag was involved with both the partnerships. Riyan came into bat when Assam were 37-2. On the third wicket Riyan added 56 runs with opener Rahul Hazarika (39, 31 balls, 4X6) and later the partnership between Riyan and Nipan produced another 85 runs from 41 balls on fourth wicket which took the game away from Madhya Pradesh.

Riyan was in terrific form today and the batsman took just 41 balls to score 75 with the help of seven boundaries and four over boundaries. Nipan contributed 41 runs on the board and there were one boundary and four over boundaries.

Earlier bat first in the game Madhya Pradesh, current Ranji Trophy champion, scored 192-4 in their 20 overs. Shubham Sharma (56), Rajat Patidar (52) and Ashwin Das (68) scored halfcenturies in the match.
