GUWAHATI, Jan 3: Assam Cricket Association will organize JK Barooah (U-19) Inter-District Tournament from January 5 in six different zones across the State. Altogether 42 teams will participate in the meet and these are divided into six groups. One zone will host one group league matches. In this edition of the JK Barooah Inter-District Tournament two new teams – President's XI and Secretary's XI - have been included apart from the various district units in a bid to make the tournament more competitive. The venues of each zone in group stage:
Head Quarter Zone (Venue – Goalpara), Southern Assam Zone (Venue-Karimganj), Upper Assam Zone (Venue-Dibrugarh), Central Assam Zone (Venue-Nagaon), Northern Assam Zone (Venue-Dhemaji) and Lower Assam Zone (Venue-Barpeta).
Schedule of opening day: Head Quarter Zone, Rangia will face Secretary's XI.
Southern Assam Zone: Lakhipur to face Dima Hasao. Upper Assam Zone, Tinsukia will play against Charaideo. Central Assam Zone, Bokakhat will meet Hojai. Northern Assam Zone, Udalguri to play against Mangaldoi. Lower Assam Zone, Bilasipara will clash against Bongaigaon.
