Mumbai Indians beat Royal Challengers Bangalore, reach 3rd spot

With the help of Suryakumar Yadav and Nehal Wadhera’s century partenership Mumbai Indians registered 6-wicket win over Royal Challengers Bangalore and climbed the thid spot in the points table of Indian Premier League at the Wankhede Stadium, here on Tuesday.

MUMBAI: With the help of Suryakumar Yadav and Nehal Wadhera’s century partenership Mumbai Indians registered 6-wicket win over Royal Challengers Bangalore and climbed the thid spot in the points table of Indian Premier League at the Wankhede Stadium, here on Tuesday.

Chasing 200 runs to win, the hosts reached the target in 16.3 overs losing 4 wickets. Captain Rohit Sharma (7) failed again while opener Ishan Kishan hit 42 runs from 21 balls. Suryakumar Yadav and Nehal Wadhera put on 140 runs from 64 balls. Suryakumar scored 83 runs off 35 balls while Wadhera added unbeaten 52 from 34 balls.

Earlier, Faf du Plessis and Glenn Maxwell hit half centuries as Royal Challengers Bangalore scored 199 runs in allotted 20 overs losing 6 wickets. Invited to bat first, RCB lost Virat Kohli (1) and Anuj Rawat (6) inside 3rd over of the match. Aussie left-arm pacer Jason Behrendorff claimed the both wicket. Then Faf du Plessis and Maxwell put on 120 runs for the third wicket in 10 overs. Maxwell was first to go after scoring 68 runs from 33 balls with 4 fours. Du Plessis struck 65 runs off 41 balls. Later Dinesh karthik added vital 30 runs off 18 balls. Behrendorff took 3 wickets for 36.
