GUWAHATI: It was a pleasant moment for a few budding cricketers of Assam Cricket Academy who were at the net to assist the members of Team India as they received a good lesson from legendary cricketer Rahul Dravid on a sunny Friday afternoon. The former batting maestro and coach of the current team, Dravid spent a little time with them at the side of the net and advised them to take sports and education simultaneously in their lives.

Dravid, head coach of Team India, called them at one side of the net and talked with them for a while. He advised the budding cricketers to take sports and education simultaneously in life. The legend said that both are important in life and need to give similar attention. He advised the cricketers that they had to earn good marks in every area which are essential in life and only then they will be able to become a successful person.

Meanwhile South Africa cricket team also did their first work out at the ACA Stadium this evening.

India now lead the three-match T20 series with an 8-wicket victory over the Proteas in the first game of the series at Thiruvananthapuram.

With a spot potentially up for grabs in the Indian squad for the forthcoming T20 World Cup Mohammed Siraj, who replaced Jaspret Bumrah for the remaining part of the T20 series, looked very focus in India's first net session which was held at the ACA Stadium, Barsapara here today.

Siraj was not part of the Indian team which was announced earlier for this series. However, as Bumrah is out from the team due to injury, selectors picked Siraj as his replacement. The pacer arrived in the city today to join the team.

India is yet to name Bumrah's replacement for the T20 World Cup squad but there are speculations that Siraj could be the one replacing him in the squad.

The Indian team spent nearly two and half hours at the ACA Stadium, Barsapara and most of it was used for training purposes. Today's training session was optional and as the day was very hot and humid the majority of India's first XI players decided to skip Friday's net session.

Those who turned up including Dinesh Karthik, Rishav Panth, Siraj, Umesh Yadav and a few others, spent a good time in the net under the watchful eye of Rahul Dravid. Siraj and his teammate Umesh Yadav made some good work out even though the weather was not perfect for the pace bowlers.

This time the crowd wasn't allowed to go inside the stadium premises and watch the training session. The road from pavilion to net was mostly covered by the security personnel. Many cricketers of Team India obliged them with selfies. Wicket keeper batsman Rishav Panth was the most favourite today and he satisfied almost the entire crowd present there.
