LIVERPOOL: Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has said he will be remaining with the Anfield giants for a long time. Salah has had a trophy-laden career at Liverpool since joining the club in 2017, most notably winning the Champions League last season and then ending Liverpool's 30-year English league title drought this year.

"I'm very happy... I can't describe my feelings after we won the league after 30 years. I can see people's joy and this is so important for all of us," Salah told BeIN Sport. "I enjoy the atmosphere here ... I love this place and I hope to stay for a long time. The atmosphere here is different to any other place." Liverpool have been dominant the past two seasons in the Premier League. They finished with 97 points last year but finished second behind Manchester City who were one point ahead. Third-placed Chelsea had managed just 72 points.

This season however, Liverpool have won the title with a 23-gap with second-placed City. Salah admitted that maintaining the level they are on now is difficult but possible.

"We have adapted well as a team and our understanding is perfect. If this continues, we can achieve more. It's difficult to maintain our current level, but it's not impossible," said the Egyptian.

He also said that he would choose captain Jordan Henderson as the best player in the league. "Maybe I'll choose Henderson because he's the captain and he's been here for about eight-nine years. He had a difficult time in the beginning and he was heavily criticised, ... He, as a captain, is loved by all of us and he tries to help all players and helps youth players to adapt," he said. (IANS)
