Dihing Patkai Riders, Subansiri Champs Win

Dihing Patkai beat Brahmaputra Boys by 43 runs in the first match. Batting first, Dihing Patkai managed 136 runs in 20 overs losing 7 wickets.

GUWAHATI, Aug 31: Dihing Patkai Riders and Subansiri Champs won their respective matches in the Assam T-20 Challengers Trophy at the Amingaon Cricket ground here today.

Dihing Patkai beat Brahmaputra Boys by 43 runs in the first match. Batting first, Dihing Patkai managed 136 runs in 20 overs losing 7 wickets. Man of the Match Nasir Ullah (31) and Reshab Deepak (24) were the main contributors. Pacer Krishna Das took 2 wickets for 20. In reply, Brahmaputra Boys were bundled out for just 93 in 19.1 overs. Nipan Deka (3/12) and Sarupam Purkayastha (2/18) were the most successful bowlers. Rituraj Biswas added 43 runs from 37 balls for the losing side.

In the next match, Subansiri Champs thrashed Manas Tigers by 9 wickets. Subansiri Champs successfully chase the target of 146 in 17.2 overs losing one wicket. Sumit Ghadigavkar remained unbeaten at 77 off 52 balls while Vishal Roy made unbeaten 59 off 47 balls. Earlier, Manash Tigers scored 145 in allotted overs losing 5 wickets with the help of Abhishek Thakuri (32), Ishaan Ahmed (25) and Sourav Saha's (29no) vital knocks.

Kaziranga Heroes will face Dihing Patkai Riders while Barak Bravehearts will take on Brahmaputra Boys on Thursday.
