Kolkata: Real Kashmir FC thrashed Army Green 4-0, while Mohammedan Sporting rode on five goals by Arthur Kouassi to pummel Indian Navy 6-2 in the 129th edition of Durand Cup on Saturday.
At the Kalyani Stadium, Real Kashmir inched closer to secure a semifinal spot by logging their second successive win, which took them to the top of Group C with six points from two matches. Former Churchill Brothers player Chesterpoul Lyngdoh scored a brace (3rd, 39th) while Singam Subash Singh (33rd) and Khaidem Vicky Meitei (90+2) also got on to the scoresheet against Army Green who were reduced to nine players in the second half.
For the Army side, Sajesh Muttath and Laishramnanishsingh were given marching orders in the 52nd and 55th minute, respectively, by referee Crystal John. Real Kashmir will now play FC Goa in their final group fixture on August 17. IANS
