GUWAHATI: After a gap of two years Indian Super League (ISL) will return to Guwahati and local outfit North East United FC is gearing up for the new season. The players and officials of the team are optimistic that the side will be able to display a good show in the championship which will kick off on October 7. This time six players from Assam will be part of NEUFC and they are Gaurav Bora, Dipu Mirdha, Pragyan Gogoi, Pragyan Medhi, Parthiv Sundar Gogoi and Nikhil Deka. Among the six players Nikhil is a goalkeeper. Gaurav Bora plays as centre back, both Pragyan Medhi and Pragyan Gogoi were the mid fielder while Dipu Mirdha and Parthiv Gogoi are the strikers.
Dipu and Gaurav today shared their views on the forthcoming season with the local media. The manager of the team Shahaswat Mohammad, and two other players- Jithin MS and Jon Gaztanaga also accompanied them during the interaction.
Both Dipu and Gaurav looked very optimistic about the team's good show in the forthcoming competition. Dipu said, "We are well prepared for the League and hope this time our team will be able to display a fine show."
Gaurav added, "Balance of the team is good and our preparation is also going on very well. We just need a good start."
