Odisha FC keep playoffs hopes alive with win over NorthEast United

The win takes Odisha FC from ninth to fifth in the points table with only one point behind from the fourth-placed Mumbai City FC.

FATORDA, Jan 18: Odisha FC registered a comprehensive 2-0 victory over NorthEast United in the 2021-22 Hero Indian Super League match at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Fatorda, here on Tuesday.

The win takes Odisha FC from ninth to fifth in the points table with only one point behind from the fourth-placed Mumbai City FC. As for Khalid Jamil's team, the winless streak extends to five games as they sit in 10th place in the standings.

Daniel Lalhlimpuia (17') gave the Kalinga Warriors an early lead with his first goal of the season. Aridai Suarez'(22') extended the advantage five minutes later, being involved in both goals.
