NEW DELHI: The Indian women lost the semifinal contest against Australia after losing the shootout 3-0.
Both the teams played some high intensity Hockey as they were level 1-1 at full-time. Despite giving it their all, the team India could not make it to the finals.
Notably, the Indian women's hockey team suffered a 3-0 defeat against Australia in the penalty shoot-out and will now fight for the bronze medal at the Commonwealth Games 2022.
Ambrosia Malone, Kaitlin Nobbs and Amy Lawton netted the goals for Australia in the shoot-out while Lalremsiami, Neha and Navneet Kaur missed India's chances.
In the other semifinal, England beat New Zealand 2-0 in a shoot-out after both the teams failed to break the stalemate in regulation 60 minutes.
India will now take on New Zealand in the bronze medal match on Sunday.
