GURGAON: India's Daksh Shokeen fired nine birdies and an eagle to sign a card of 5-under 67 that helped the local lad to grab a four-shot lead in the overall category of the Champions Links Challenge that started at began the Golden Greens Golf Club here on Tuesday.

World junior champion RaghavChugh was placed second at 1-under 71. RaginiNavet signed off a card of 1-under 71 to lead in the women's amateur category.

Shokeen, who made a bogey on the third hole, recovered well to score four birdies -- on the fourth, fifth, eighth, and ninth -- to take the turn at 3-under. With a bogey-start on his back nine, he made two consecutive birdies on the next two holes before losing four shots -- one on the 13th and three on the 14th -- to be level par for the day. However, with a hat-trick of birdies and an eagle on the finishing hole, Daksh was able to sign off a decent card. IANS
