ROME: Juventus is seemingly back on track in Serie A, as it claimed its second consecutive win by beating Sampdoria 3-2 on Sunday, while Lazio won the Derby della Capitale with the same scoreline.

Juventus just snatched its first victory in the new Serie A season in midweek. Goalkeeper Mattia Perin got the nod, while Alvaro Morata, Paulo Dybala and Federico Chiesa led Juve's attack.

With the win, Juve climbed to ninth place on the table with eight points but was still 10 points behind leader Napoli, who conquered Cagliari 2-0 on Sunday.

In a highly-anticipated Rome derby, Lazio surged into a 2-0 lead within 20 minutes with Sergej Milinkovic-Savic's header and ex-Roma star Pedro's daisy-cutter. The Giallorossi pulled one back on the stroke of halftime with Roger Ibanez's glancing header.

Lazio added the third through a counter-attack on the hour mark as Ciro Immobile set up for Felipe Anderson to tap in.

Jordan Veretout converted a controversial spot-kick for Roma later, but his side was still toothless to turn the game around.

Also on Sunday, Empoli conquered Bologna 4-2, Sassuolo defeated Salernitana 1-0, Fiorentina won over Udinese 1-0. Agencies
