Mumbai: Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) captain KL Rahul recorded the highest-ever score by an Indian batsman in the history of IPL as he took Kings XI Punjab to a congenial victory over Virat Kohli-led Royal Challengers Bangalore.
The skipper slammed a sensational knock of 132 runs off just 69 balls in his side's clash against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 on Thursday.
Meanwhile, KL Rahul helped Kings XI Punjab post a massive total of 206 runs on the board.
Rahul surpassed Delhi Capitals star Rishabh Pant, who held the record for the highest individual score by an Indian batsman till Rahul broke his record.
KXIP captain's 132 not out is now 4th on the list of overall highest individual scores in IPL history with Chris Gayle's destructive 175 on top.
Worth mentioning is that the 28-year-old claimed the record for the highest score by an Indian in the IPL, toppling the score of 127* in the 2018 edition.
He also became the highest scorer by a franchise captain, beating David Warner's 126 for the Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2017.
