Kolkata: Levante captain Jose Luis Morales feels the team hasn’t converted their chances this season and failed to finish off games despite playing well in La Liga.
With two games remaining in this season, Levante find themselves at the 16th position in the 20-team points table, just beating the drop. Three teams from the bottom are relegated at the end of every season.
“We aren’t converting our chances and we aren’t killing off games. There have been games in which we have been superior to our opponents and we have not taken advantage of it,” winger Morales said in an interview.
“In the end the mistakes we make are hindering us, and the failure to kill those games off means that the smallest detail leads to us conceding a goal and dropping points.
“We haven’t been experiencing long-lasting joy as of late as just as soon as we score, we concede. We have to try to avoid this because we are already into the final matches of the season. (IANS)
