3rd All India Brahmaputra Senior and Junior Squash to be held in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: The 3rd All India Brahmaputra Senior and Junior Squash Championship will be held at squash courts of R G Baruah Sports Complex in the city from April 7. A total of 272 players from 24 States will take part in the 3- day championship. Addressing the media in a press conference the president of Assam Squash Rackets Association Shiladitya Dev said, the tournament is a SRFI 3 Star Ranking and a National PSA Satellite tournament. It will give the young players of the State a platform to hone their sporting skills.

The competition will be held in different age categories along with Men, Women and Masters.

Dev also said that Water Resources, Information and Public Relation Minister Pijush Hazarika will attend the inaugural function as the chief guest. The closing Ceremony, scheduled to be held on April 9, will be graced by Governor Gulab Chand Kataria as chief guest and Union Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas Rameswar Teli as guest of honour.

The media briefing was also attended by senior vice president of Assam Squash Rackets Association Anup Choudhury, secretary Rakesh Tiwari and other officials of the association.
