GUWAHATI: Six athletes from Assam will be the part of the Indian contingent which will take part in the forthcoming Asian Games. This time Hangzhou, China will host the 19th edition of the Asian Games from September 23.
The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports today released the approved list of the Indian athletes for various disciplines who will travel to China to participate in the Asian Games. The approved list included the name of 634 athletes and they will take part in 38 disciplines. Among the 634 athletes 320 are men and 314 are women.
Six athletes of the State who would be the part of the Indian contingent are Shiva Thapa, Lovlina Borgohain (Boxing), Shivangi Sarma (Swimming), Uma Chetry (Cricket), Ashmita Chaliha (Badminton) and Priya Devi (Sepak Takraw).
