All Assam Inter District U-7 Chess Championship concludes

Reyaan Nobis of Guwahati scored 5 points from 6 rounds and got second position. Hreyansh Deka also of Gu-wahati also scored 5 points from same number of rounds but declared third on the basis of tie-break score

GUWAHATI: The 46th All Assam U-7 Chess Championship-2023, organized by Guwahati Chess Acad-emy on behalf of All Assam Chess Association, concluded today. Syed Mehdi of Karimganj clinched the title in boy’s category by scoring 5.5 points from 6 rounds. He remained unbeaten throughout the tournament winning five games and drawing one. In the final round Syed Mehdi beat Ranveer Deb of Cachar. Syed Mehdi pocketed Rs 5,000 as cash prizes sponsored by Dr Devajit Sharma. Aarya Jains claimed the title in girls category scoring perfect 5 points from 5 rounds. She beat Nida Nazneen of Jorhat in her final games. She also pocketed Rs 5,000 as first prize sponsored by Dr Siben Dutta.

Reyaan Nobis of Guwahati scored 5 points from 6 rounds and got second position. Hreyansh Deka also of Guwahati also scored 5 points from same number of rounds but declared third on the basis of tie-break score. Sudipta Paul of Cachar got fourth position by scoring 4 points. All four players were awarded trophy and cash prizes.

Adrija Kalita of Sonitpur scored 4 points from 5 rounds to get second position. Chaarvi Shree Barman of Gu-wahati also scored 4 points from 5 rounds but declared third on the basis of tie-break score. Nida Nazneen of Jorhat got fourth position by scoring four points. Top four position holders were awarded trophy and cash prizes.

Altogether 54 players from 16 districts of Assam were participated in the tournament. Top two players from each group are selected to represent Assam Assam in National Under-7 chess championship. This is stated in a re-lease.
