GUWAHATI: Team Airport Authority of India (AAI) emerged as champion in both men and women categories in the All India Inter-Institutional Badminton Championship, organized by Assam Badminton Association under the auspice of Badminton Association of India, at Kanaklata Indoor Stadium, RG Baruah Sports Complex on Tuesday.
In the men’s team final Airport Authority of India beat Reserve Bank of India (RBI) by 3-2 in the nail-biting final. The women’s team beat RBI by 3-1 in the final of women’s team event.
Meanwhile, Bhaskar Chakraborty, Sidhartha, Prem Singh Chauhan and Subham Gosain reached the men’s singles semifinals. Malavika Bansod, Leena Dhapre, Shradha Srivastav and Krishna Priya stormed into the semifinals of women’s singles category. The semifinals and finals of singles events and mixed doubles finals will be held tomorrow.
