Guwahati: All Kamrup Aquatic Championship Set To Be Held On May 26

The 7th All Kamrup Aquatic Championship will be held at Zakir Hussain Aquatic Complex located within the Sarusajai Sports Complex on May 26.

GUWAHATI: The 7th All Kamrup Aquatic Championship will be held at Zakir Hussain Aquatic Complex located within the Sarusajai Sports Complex on May 26.

Around 300 swimmers from various parts of the district are expected to take part in the competition. There will be a total of 88 swimming and 28 diving events in the meet.

Meanwhile, earlier this year, Jananjoy Jyoti Hazarika, Rupom Gogoi and Jahnabi Kashyap came out with flying colours in the BIMSTEC Aquatic Championship 2024 which concluded in New Delhi back in February.

Altogether 7 countries participated in this international aquatic championship. 

Result: Diving-Men: Rupom Gogoi-Gold (1 meter SpringBoard). Jananjoy Jyoti Hazarika: Silver (50m ButterFly) and Silver (100m ButterFly).

Women: Jahnabi Kashyap- Silver (100 m Butterfly, 4X100m freestyle relay and 4X100m medley relay).

Earlier last year, the inaugural All Kamrup District Inter-School Aquatic Championship was held on November 26 at Rajaduwar located in North Guwahati.

The competition was organized by Kamrup District Swimming Association under the aegis of Assam Swimming Association.

More than 300 players from different schools of Kamrup (Metropolitan) and Kamrup (Rural) participated in the championship.

Vice President of the Swimming Federation of India and General Secretary of Assam Swimming Association Bhaskar Ranjan Das graced the inaugural ceremony as the chief guest.
