GUWAHATI : Ankurjyoti Club lifted the Sitaram Chhawchharia Memorial U-19 Inter Organisation Cricket title defeating We R North East (WERNE) by 14 runs in the rain disturbed final held at the Nehru Stadium here today. Due to wet outfield, the match was reduced to a 15-overs-a-side affair.
Invited to bat, Ankurjyoti Club bowled out 111 runs in 15 overs. Prateek Gurung (28 ) was the top scorer while Manjeet Deka contributed 21 runs on the board. Sumit Kashyap and Md Taijuddin bagged three wickets each while Bhuban Chetry took two wickets.
Later We R North East bowled out 97 runs in 15 overs. Kuldeep Gogoi (33 runs) was the top scorer and Kabir Hassan (29) was the other major contributor. Himanshu Saraswat, bowled a magnificent spell, picked up five wickets conceding 14 runs in 3 overs.
