ASEBSC at top after first leg in GSA Super Division Football League

GUWAHATI: Assam State Electricity Board Sports Club (ASEBSC) took a huge eight points lead over second place team Sunrise and were placed in the comfort zone after the end of the first leg in the GSA Super Division Football League. The first leg was completed yesterday.

All the teams played seven matches in the first leg and ASEBSC are the only team which remained unbeaten. The side collected 21 points from their seven outings. Sunrise are in second place with 13 points. Assam Police Blues and Maharana AC are the two teams who finished among the top four in the first leg. Assam Police, at third place, earned 12 points and Maharana AC collected 10 points on way to bag the fourth place.

Altogether eight teams are playing in this edition of the Super Division League. Among the remaining four teams NFRSC and Gauhati Town Club collected four points each but inferior goal difference put NFRSC at the bottom of the table and Gauhati town club at 7th place. FC Green Valley (9) at fifth place and they were followed by Navajyoti club (7) at the sixth spot.

Meanwhile, the top goal scorer list is led by Jwngbla Brahma of Sunrise Club. Sunrise scored 12 goals in the first leg and 8 of them were scored by Jwngbla. Nicodim Narzary (ASEBSC) is in second place with 7 goals.
