GUWAHATI: Khel Ratna, Arjuna awardees were honoured today in a virtual ceremony which was held in different SAI and NIC centres across the country amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Lovlina Borgohain, the first women boxer of Assam who received the prestigious Arjuna Award this year, attended the function at Chandigarh.

In a brief reaction to The Sentinel over telephone Lovlina, who is now at Patiala to join the National camp, said, "Feeling great! I can't describe it in the words. It would have been better if I had received the awards at Rashtrapati Bhavan from the President himself."

The boxer took nearly one and half hours journey from Patiala to Chandigarh to attend the function and later returned to Patiala again. She received blazers and certificates during the ceremony.

Talking about the start of her training in the National camp Lovlina said, "I have been in self quarantine at Patiala for last 9-10 days. I have also undergone COVID-19 Test during that period and the result was negative. I will likely to join the camp by next couple of days."
